Katrina Nelson

I am currently a BFA student at CSU, Chico with an option in Electronic Art and an emphasis in Multimedia. I have worked as a graphic design intern on campus for over two years now and am currently beginning my fifth year in school. I've been involved with many things throughout my college career, including studying abroad for a semester in Spain, being an active member on the waterski team, and various other clubs and organizations available on campus. I love art and am currently developing my personal theme and artist statement for my graduating exhibition I'll be having this spring. I am also developing my own personal website at the moment and will be uploading it here when it's completed and live.

My personal practice is currently the subject of my PhD research; as a body of work it explores and creates opportunities for dialogue about identity-actualization of the subjective self, of concepts of an embodied or corporeal self, and of human-being-ness in a techno-cultural shared space; using traditional and experimental media the work explores the increasing intimacy between biological and technological systems, and the necessary shifts in thinking, policy and lifestyles inherent in such a relationship.

Kyd Campbell

Kyd Campbell works as an independent programmer, exhibition designer and curator specialized in circulation, media and audio art and also as a digital creator of public interactive situations. International network, Public Art Lab's project Mobile Studios, the Pure Data community, the HTMlles festival, CTM, the Transmediale and CTRL_ATL_DEL festival in Istanbul. She is co-founder of tiny noise, a nomadic sound art exchange platform and contributes to digital communities and research groups focused on observing mobility and the emotional aspects of human-machine relationships.

Laura Splan

BIOGRAPHY

Laura Splan is a New York based mixed media artist. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of California, Irvine where she originally studied Biological Sciences. She received her Master of Fine Art in Sculpture from Mills College in Oakland, CA. Her conceptually driven work employs a variety of materials and processes that usually have a feminine sensibility about them. Unsettling scientific and medical imagery are foiled by more comfortable domestic imagery and craft processes. Likewise, the seemingly familiar and benign are subverted by the anatomical and biological. She often uses her own body in the production of materials for her work such as blood and discarded facial peel. She recently became a certified phlebotomist.

Creative Director of flora&faunavisions in berlin

Back with a vision: flora&faunavisions launches showreel and website
Your first point of call for all things visual, from motion graphics to film trailers, event design to interactive 3D installations, is back with a bang. And then some.

It’s been a while in the making – and well worth the wait: on January 27th, flora&faunavisions brightens up the new year with two special treats. Going strong since 1999, it’s time to celebrate a decade of sparkling ideas, glistening gems and shining examples of multi-disciplinary design with the launch of our radically reworked website and new showreel.

Linda J Vigdor

I recently received my PhD for my dissertation, "An Intersectional Reading of Gender & Technology." My thesis deconstructs a gender-technology story in education and policy that focuses on women's underrepresentation in computing and argues that this concern masks the ways that women-gender are co-opted as a kind of mediator in managing our societal anxieties over technological progress.

UBERMORGEN.COM is an artist duo created in Vienna, Austria, by Lizvlx and Hans
Bernhard, a founder of etoy. Behind UBERMORGEN.COM we can find one of the most
unmatchable identities – controversial and iconoclast – of the contemporary European
techno-fine-art avant-garde. Their open circuit of conceptual art, drawing, software art, pixel-
painting, computer installations, net.art, sculpture and digital activism (media hacking)
transforms their brand into a hybrid Gesamtkunstwerk. UBERMORGEN.COM’s work is
unique not because of what they do but because how, when, where and why they do it. The
computer and the network are (ab)used to create art and combine its multiple forms. The
permanent amalgamation of fact and fiction points toward an extremely expanded concept of
