I’m a researcher, sonic artist and theorist working with the trans literary notion of sound in language. I am doing practice led research as a PhD at QUT in Australia. I am also the founder of GIRRL [girrlsound : digital girrl]. GIRRL is a new international organization that promotes and support women working in sonic and digital arts. http://girrl-girrlsound-digitalgirrl.org

Creatively and theoretically I work across sound/text, the gallery and the web. I’m interested in the excess of language and literatures and slippages between genres. I make digital operas or operations compressing different fields together much like the notion of gesamtwert or aggregate value, in that I stage animated digital dummies like ventriloquist dummies, performing scores of sound.

Melinda makes things happen in networked, distributed, intimate, urban, regional and virtual spaces. For 25 years she has been engaged in personal creative practices across sculpture, performance, net art, multi-user environments, art science collaborations, public displays, gallery intervention; and contributed to the development of networked and emerging art practices as a convener, curator, publisher, critic and editor of exhibitions, forums, conferences and masterclasses in both hard and sand soft space.

Lubi has been curating from The Block New Media Exhibition Space located at QUT Precincts, Kelvin Grove since 2005, working both locally, nationally and internationally on large scale new media programs, and a range of other diverse creative projects. She is responsible for developing the current and ongoing exhibition program for the Creative Industries Precinct, the extensive public program schedules, that scaffold not only the exhibition program, but also engage with the Creative Industries Precinct’s communities and the growing curatorial intern program, that engages with both under and post graduate students studying at QUT.

In my trans-disciplinary Postdoctoral research I am brokering new art/science collaborations whilst continuing my explorations into innovative art/science practices. My artworks are grounded in the interconnectedness between the biomedical sciences and twenty first century perceptions of the “self”. They are structured to facilitate individual viewer immersion and completion through participation - either in real-time or virtually. I re-position installation viewers as active participants rather than passive observers of pre-existing systems. I focus on reinterpreting the research data from my scientific experiments and recontextualising it in interactive artworks, using a range of media.

Pip Stafford is a new media artist whose practice includes video installation, performance, web projects, printed media and illustration. She is primarily interested in personal rituals, private lives and exploring notions of isolation and group communication.

A graduate of the University of Tasmania, School of Art (BFA), she is currently a resident of the Rat Palace, an artist run studio space in Hobart.

In 2007 Pip was awarded the Next Wave Festival’s Kickstart grant and has since been working on a web project for the Festival entitled iwishicouldshowyou.com.
I Wish I Could Show You is a data base of user-generated creativity comprised of videos from mobile phones. I Wish I Could Show You showed as part of the 2008 Next Wave Festival at Horse Bazaar, Melbourne.

Artistic practice revolves around the combinations of bricolage, metaphysics and Linux computing. This research is based in speculative experimentation with performance, bricolage and electronic media.

Rebecca Cunningham is an Australian curator, sound, and performance artist interested in all methods of making. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Music, Performance from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University and Bachelor of Creative Industries 2A Honours, Interdisciplinary from QUT.
