Pip Stafford is a new media artist whose practice includes video installation, performance, web projects, printed media and illustration. She is primarily interested in personal rituals, private lives and exploring notions of isolation and group communication.

A graduate of the University of Tasmania, School of Art (BFA), she is currently a resident of the Rat Palace, an artist run studio space in Hobart.

In 2007 Pip was awarded the Next Wave Festival’s Kickstart grant and has since been working on a web project for the Festival entitled iwishicouldshowyou.com.
I Wish I Could Show You is a data base of user-generated creativity comprised of videos from mobile phones. I Wish I Could Show You showed as part of the 2008 Next Wave Festival at Horse Bazaar, Melbourne.

Bay Area/Colombian Praba Pilar is a performance artist, technologist and cultural theorist exploring aspects of emerging technologies which generate new forms of economic, environmental and sexual exploitation and erasure. Deeply rooted in Latino communities, she has spent the last decade presenting site works, performances, street theatre, writing and websites which provide a counternarrative to the overarching rhetoric about the beneficence of biotechnology, information technology, and nanotechnology.

I am interested in work that involves politics, gender and ethnic stereotypes, privilege, power, and science fiction/fantasy. I have also worked in several nonprofit art organizations and am very interested in visual and media literacy and education.

Rachelle Beaudoin is a new media artist who uses video, wearables, and performance to explore feminine iconography, role modeling, and “raunch culture.” She attended the College of the Holy Cross where she studied Studio Art and played ice hockey. She holds a Master’s degree in Digital+Media from Rhode Island School of Design

Rebecca Cunningham is an Australian curator, sound, and performance artist interested in all methods of making. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Music, Performance from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University and Bachelor of Creative Industries 2A Honours, Interdisciplinary from QUT.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Regina Célia Pinto is a teacher, a researcher and an independent artist. As a researcher she has written a variety of academic works, including published scientific essays. As a visual artist, she has participated in several exhibitions and curated several.

Her interest in new media art started in 1997. Since then she has lived, has loved and has believed in net.art. So that all her work as artist or curator is done for the web.

The majority of her works shows her deep interest for cyberliterature.

Since 1996 I have collaborated with Riek Sijbring and Femke Snelting under the name, De Geuzen: a foundation for multi-visual research. Our work has employed a variety of strategies to explore female identity, critical resistance, representation and narrative archiving.

Throughout my practice with De Geuzen, writing has been as important as the visual. Whether blurbs for announcers, slogans for stickers or critical essays and interviews for thematic projects, writing has not only been a vehicle of expression, but also a means of speculation. As our work migrated to online environments, I became fascinated by the potential of digital writing and the multiple expressions it takes in a variety of media.

i have been working in the field of (new) technologies since long, i am a very DIY and DIT person, i really enjoy hanging out with geeks, soldering new units or trying out a performance scetch made by somebody else, i strongly believe in exchange and in collaboration.

As artist, co-founder and co-director of Furtherfield.org media arts organisation and its gallery HTTP Gallery in North London, I work at the intersection of art, technology and social change with artists, curators, musicians, programmers, writers, activists and thinkers from around the world. I am currently developing the artistic programme and organisational infrastructure with a focus on sustainability and Media Art Ecologies, aspiring to engender shared visions and infrastructures for other possible worlds.
