My research is focused on 20th century art and histories and theories of modernism; specific interests include the intersections of film and the visual arts, the history of psychoanalysis, the aesthetics of machines, and contemporary uses of Marxist theory. I received my B.A. in Women's and Gender Studies from Yale and completed an M.A. in art history at Columbia. I am currently a PhD candidate at Princeton.

My individual work as an artist has developed within the structure of a visual diary - a journal, perhaps a journey. "Diary of Images", the name I have given to the body of my work, is an on-going process, a record of events, an exposé of cultural issues, a receptacle of personal and collective memories. From photo-silkscreen to video, from physical to digital, the body of my work in the last 30 years can be described as an open hybrid book. At present, I have added olfactory art as a new medium and its capacity to resurface emotions and individual/collective memories.

Based in New York City and Delmar, NY, Elise continues her work in sound design and experimental theater. Her films combine dance, music, and video performances into a form she calls "Sonic Performance".

Marie Sivak is an interdisciplinary artist working in sculpture,installation, video, performance and drawing. Her critically acclaimed work combines traditional stone carving techniques with embedded and projected video. Her work investigates the psychology of memory and the nature of human relationships in contemporary terms. She is represented by AIR gallery in Brooklyn, New York.

Marina Zurkow makes psychological, animated narratives about humans and their relationship to animals, plants and the weather. These have taken the form of multi-channel videos, customized multi-screen computer pieces, cartoons, and interactive mobile works.

Andrea Polli www.andreapolli.com is a digital media artist living in New Mexico. She is currently an Associate Professor at The University of New Mexico and Director of the Interdisciplinary Film and Digital Media Program. Polli's projects often bring together artists and scientists from various disciplines. She is interested in global systems, the real time interconnectivity of these systems, and the effect of these systems on individuals. She has exhibited, performed, and lectured nationally and internationally. She currently works in collaboration with atmospheric scientists to develop systems for understanding storm and climate information through sound (a process called sonification).

I am a German art historian, taught for 20 years, but recently I mainly work as an art consultant. I live in NYC, but go often back to Berlin, where I grew up.
I am very interested in contemporary art made by woman, and I don't mean feminist art with the emphasis of the fact that we have a vagina. I noticed that from an art historian and art critical standpoint, woman make incredible work, for about 40 years now.
I would start with people like Carolee Schneemann, Valie Export, Eva Hesse, Hannah Wilke, Cindy Sherman, Ana Mendieta, Gina Pane, Marina Abramovic, Ann Hamilton, Mona Hatoum, Janine Antoni, Rineke Dijkstra, Pippilotti Rist, Sam Taylor Wood, Heide Hatry, Chrissy Conant, Regina Jose Galindo,... to name a few of the most powerful (and of my favorite) ones.

Caitlin Berrigan’s practice is conceptual, carried by material things: tactile and edible sculpture, immersive installation, electronic media and participatory performance. She is interested in alluring objects and situations that must be activated by participants, initiating an experience in their bodies that connects physiology and intellect. The artwork itself becomes embodied, producing sensate forms of knowledge.

I am a visual artist and curator. I grew up in Germany, where I studied art at various art schools and art history at the University of Heidelberg. After I moved to NYC in 2003 I have curated several exhibitions in Germany, Spain and the USA (notably 'Skin' at the Goethe Institut in New York, the Heidelberger Kunstverein and Galeria Tribeca in Madrid, Spain; 'Out of the Box' at Elga Wimmer PCC in NYC, 'Carolee Schneemann, Early and Recent Work, A Survey' at Pierre Menard Gallery in Cambridge, MA and 'Meat After Meat Joy' at Daneyal Mahmood Gallery, NYC). I have shown my work at museums and galleries in those countries as well and edited more than a dozen books and art catalogues. Kehrer Verlag published my book 'Skin' in 2005.
