My individual work as an artist has developed within the structure of a visual diary - a journal, perhaps a journey. "Diary of Images", the name I have given to the body of my work, is an on-going process, a record of events, an exposé of cultural issues, a receptacle of personal and collective memories. From photo-silkscreen to video, from physical to digital, the body of my work in the last 30 years can be described as an open hybrid book. At present, I have added olfactory art as a new medium and its capacity to resurface emotions and individual/collective memories.

My personal practice is currently the subject of my PhD research; as a body of work it explores and creates opportunities for dialogue about identity-actualization of the subjective self, of concepts of an embodied or corporeal self, and of human-being-ness in a techno-cultural shared space; using traditional and experimental media the work explores the increasing intimacy between biological and technological systems, and the necessary shifts in thinking, policy and lifestyles inherent in such a relationship.

I operate under the name QUIET REVOLUTION, which I consider an instigative state of mind permeating the worlds of conceptual and performance art, installation, videodance, video-poetry, filmmaking, printmaking, videoart, VJ'ing, investigations and propositions in media culture and the global internetworked society.

I am an academic and practising/exhibiting new media artist for the past twenty years. These works include electronic installations, collaborations with performers, video and audio work, generative and software based artworks, VR environments and data visualisations/ecologies. Interdisciplinary and collaborative practice informs the development and ultimately the design of these artworks.

I am interested in work that involves politics, gender and ethnic stereotypes, privilege, power, and science fiction/fantasy. I have also worked in several nonprofit art organizations and am very interested in visual and media literacy and education.

Marie Sivak is an interdisciplinary artist working in sculpture,installation, video, performance and drawing. Her critically acclaimed work combines traditional stone carving techniques with embedded and projected video. Her work investigates the psychology of memory and the nature of human relationships in contemporary terms. She is represented by AIR gallery in Brooklyn, New York.

I was born in Havana, Cuba, grew up in Puerto Rico and live in the US since 1978. I received a B.F.A. in Photography from the Philadelphia College of Art and an M.F.A. from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. I am an artist who works with innovative, non-traditional photographic media, and have exhibited extensively in the United States and abroad. I am the recipient of a Cintas Fellowship; a National Endowment for the Arts award; and a Fulbright-Hays Grant, among others.

My videos and films often interrogate the viewer's desire to ascribe Japanese femininity to my work, an imperative of Western culture wherein the "artist-as-other" must reference identity politics as a primary footnote to their work.
